are both awesome. And from the screenshots Xem also looks good. How do I obtain a copy of Xem without nagging Jacob (OK if I call you Jake? It takes a lot of time to type) for it?

No, please don't call me Jake. Besides, it's only one letter shorter! :P You can call me jvvg if you want something something shorter, though.

For Xem, I only have archives of the source code and I don't remember how to put it all together. The project died over a year ago.
